Two drivers injured, one cited in Hwy. 126 crash
Two pickups collided nearly head-on west of Redmond
REDMOND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- Two pickup trucks collided nearly head-on Friday on state Highway 126 about five miles west of Redmond, sending both drivers to the hospital, one cited for careless driving, Oregon State Police said.
A white Chevy pickup driven by Eric Howell, 45, of Salem, was westbound at milepost 106 around 12:30 p.m. when the driver drifted completely into the oncoming lane and collided with an eastbound silver Chevy pickup driven by Ralph Sutterfield, 48, of Bend, troopers said.
The pickups collided at highway speeds and both came to rest on the highway shoulder, about 350 feet apart, Redmond Fire Acting Shift Commander Andrew White said.
One driver was able to get out on his own after the crash, but it took Redmond Fire crews about 20 minutes to cut away the wreckage and free the other, pinned driver, White said.
Both drivers were taken to St. Charles Bend with non-life-threatening injuries, OSP reported. Howell was cited for careless driving.
Both AirLink and Life Flight air ambulances were called, but weather conditions including low cloud cover kept them from responding, according to scanner reports.
Deschutes County sheriff's deputies, Redmond Fire and Rescue, ODOT and Abbas Towing assisted at the crash scene.

when will people learn to slow down and pay attention.
Most have a child mentality behind the wheel and that’s when they’re sober.
I didn’t see any mention of speed being a contributing factor.
These Snow flakes will not slow down glad they got citened his insurance will like it more money out of pocket They just don’t learn
Perhaps the orange snowflake emporer can decree some that everyone caught speeding has to wear one of his “make china great again” hats ! LMAO!!! That is if he’s not too busy reviring toilet regulations or golfing or tweeting insults at 16 year olds!!!! What a stud!!! WINNING!!!
Wow… I think everyone knew it was just a matter of time before you went completely off the rails.
Your comments are not funny, smart or witty. Please give it a rest. Do yourself and the rest of the readers a favor and take your meds.
Seriously, what is wrong with you?
And yet Barney allows this.
I like how you brain washed idiots inflect your political blather into anything that can be commented on. I bet it chaps your backside Barney has the comments on the hot button political issues disabled
Point out any story with comments turned off and I’ll turn them on. It’s a technical issue, not a choice by your moderator or anyone at the station.
Strangely they are mostly political items not in the libs favor…
Our CNN feed is totally broken today, but as I have said before, about half of the CNN stories have comments turned on, half don’t. I’ve seen it both ways many times for both political and non-political stories. Believe what you will, but it is a technical error, not editorial judgment. I have turned them on for others when they note they either turned off at an update or weren’t on in the first place.
No comments allowed on the “Doctor reacts to death of migrant teen: This shouldn’t happen in US” story either, wonder why!
It’s a technical issue, believe it or not. Thanks for pointing it out, comments have now been turned on.
i thought it was kind of nice

The comment sections are the most entertaining parts of most news sites. They always give me a good laugh. I usually visit these site only for the discussions.
