There’s Good News: Windermere brokers volunteer at The Family Kitchen in Bend

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) Brokers from Windermere are volunteering their time to prepare and serve food at The Family Kitchen in Bend. The Family Kitchen is a non-profit organization that provides free meals with no serving limits to community members in need. The organization is currently seeking more volunteers for the summer.

The Family Kitchen is actively looking to expand its volunteer base throughout the summer. Many individuals considering volunteering often express concerns about the requirement for a consistent weekly commitment.

Clara Patt, the volunteer coordinator at Family Kitchen, acknowledged these common hesitations. She explained that the biggest hurdle for potential volunteers is often the worry about regular commitment. "The biggest hurdle, people say is they worry about being able to regularly commit," Patt said. "And we don't need people to regulate commit, if the biggest gift you can give is a random hour on a Sunday afternoon to do some dishes. That's incredible. We'll take it. It's a very tangible difference. You're so hands on, it's so tactile that you really can immediately see the impact you've done." The Family Kitchen's website offers more information for those interested in volunteering.

The Family Kitchen encourages those who may be hesitating to volunteer to consider contributing, as there is space for various levels of commitment.
