Here is the latest Washington, Oregon and Alaska sports news from The Associated Press

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Carmelo Anthony had 23 points and 11 rebounds and the Portland Trail Blazers downed Chicago 107-103 for their second victory over the Bulls this week. Damian Lillard added 28 points for the Blazers, who have won three straight after four consecutive losses.

SEATTLE (AP) — Jacob Eason threw for 244 yards and one touchdown and ran for another, Richard Newton added a pair of short touchdown runs, and Washington kept possession of the Apple Cup for a seventh straight season after a 31-13 win over Washington State. Eason was excellent using his tight ends to pick apart Washington State’s defense in what could be his final home game after just one season with Washington. Washington State was held 28 points under its season average.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — Oregon’s hopes of making the College Football Playoff field were dashed with a loss last weekend to Arizona State, so the drama of the Civil War against Oregon State has been dimmed a bit. But not for the Beavers, who will be scrambling for bowl eligibility in the regular-season finale.

EAGAN, Minn. (AP) — The priority during the bye week for Minnesota Vikings coach Mike Zimmer and his staff was not difficult to discern. Pass defense that has uncharacteristically been a problem in several recent games needed some work. Improvement will be of immediate importance with an impending road trip to face Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks. Wilson, who has never lost to the Vikings in five career matchups in either the regular season or the playoffs, is tied for the NFL lead with 24 touchdown passes.
