Police investigate shot fired into Madras-area home
Authorities are investigating an incident early Monday morning in which a Madras-area resident reported a bullet came through a wall and broke some glass in the home, Jefferson County Sheriff Jim Adkins said.
The incident was reported around 1:20 a.m. at a home in the 1300 block of South Adams Drive, just south of the city limits, Adkins told NewsChannel 21.
Oregon State Police later stopped a car “of possible interest” in the matter, Adkins said, adding that his “deputies are looking at a couple of suspects” but no arrests have been made.
The sheriff said it’s not known if the house was targeted “or if this was just a random stray bullet from another incident.”
Madras police also are involved in the active investigation, which Adkins said has turned up little further information so far.
