SALEM, Ore. (KTVZ) — Governor Tina Kotek ordered flags at Oregon public institutions to be flown at half-staff immediately on Tuesday pursuant to a Presidential Proclamation in honor of Peace Officers Memorial Day. The flag should be flown at half-staff from midnight until sunset on May 15.

“Our law enforcement public safety professionals are confronted head on with the most complicated parts of humanity, only to stand in the face of it and offer help,” Governor Kotek said. “There is no sacrifice more noble, no pledge to the public more honorable, than that of the devotion in the line of duty of our law enforcement professionals. We honor the memory of those who have fallen in service protecting their fellow Oregonians.”
