Mostly sunny skies and above normal temperatures into the holiday weekend

Bend, OR (KTVZ) -

Skies have cleared from stormy weather and we should see sunshine and drier conditions take over. Haze will linger; plan for moderate air quality today.

Temperatures will be above normal for the long-term forecast, getting hot at times. Plan for temperatures to be in the 80s, tipping into the low 90s in a few areas every so often.

The warmer and drier conditions will bring some challenges to firefighters trying to mop up and contain the Flat Fire but they have done a great job at controlling it. It’s unlikely we see any more growth at this point, it’s really just a matter of mopping the fire up and securing lines from here on out.

Any last minute summer trips this weekend before the kids go off to school will be warm and mostly sunny. If you have Labor Day holiday plans to go to the beach or camp in the woods, the weather will be favorable.

Make sure you’re practicing fire safety!

Happy Thursday! Have a great day.
