BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- Central Oregon Community College will host its 27th annual 5K “Turkey Trot” on Saturday, Nov. 14, at 10:30 a.m. on the college's Bend campus. The fun run and walk serves as a fundraiser for COCC Foundation scholarships.

The event is free for COCC students and staff and $20 for other community members. All proceeds will benefit Foundation scholarships. Registration includes a T-shirt and breakfast foods and a race clock will be placed at the starting line so participants can track their finish times.

The race schedule also includes the fifth annual “Toddler Trot,” a free event starting at 10 a.m. The Toddler Trot features two age categories—ages 3 and younger and ages 5 and younger—with races spanning the full length of the athletic field. Online registration is not required for the toddler event, but participants should plan to arrive at 9:30 a.m.

Community members interested in participating in the 5K can register online at cocc.edu/sports. Additional information is available by contacting the COCC sports and recreation department at 541-383-7794 or sports@cocc.edu.

The college provides assistance for participants who need accommodations. Individuals requiring physical or mobility accommodations or transportation ahead of the event should contact campus services at 541-383-7775. For accommodations related to other disabilities, such as hearing impairments, individuals can contact student accessibility services at 541-383-7583 or sas@cocc.edu.

Check-in for the race event begins at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14, at the college's Bend campus, followed by the Toddler Trot at 10 a.m. and the 5K Turkey Trot at 10:30 a.m.
