OREGON (KTVZ) -- More than 130 Dutch Bros locations across Oregon raised over $160,000 for the Silver Rail Elementary Parent-Teacher Organization during a fundraising event on Oct. 23. The company donated $1 for every drink sold during the one-day drive directly to the school organization.

The funding was provided through the Dutch Bros Foundation and local franchisee partners to support students, staff and families at Silver Rail Elementary. According to the organization, 100% of the funds raised will stay within the school community to support essential programs, school resources and community relief.

The fundraising effort originally began as a localized initiative. Joshua Kimzey, regional operator at Dutch Bros Coffee, launched the drive with just a few stores before it expanded across more than 130 locations statewide.

Kimzey commented on the turnout and community response following the statewide event. “It's overwhelming and moving to see our community come together with such care for those who need support right now,” Kimzey said. “This giveback meant a lot to us all at Dutch Bros. The incredible turnout showed what's possible when we rally as one and it was a powerful reminder of how meaningful it is to show up for each other.”

Representatives from the Silver Rail Elementary PTO expressed appreciation for Kimzey and community members who participated. “The outpouring of love and support from the community has been amazing,” the Silver Rail Elementary PTO said. “It's the little things, like these meaningful shows of support, that feel like the biggest warmest hug from our community. Showing up that day - it was palpable and brought us to tears. Regional Operator, Joshua, started this movement for our school with just a few locations and we are so proud to have hugged and thanked him in person. Thank you to everyone who came and showed their support for our amazing school.”

Community members who were unable to participate in the event can still make donations directly to the Silver Rail Elementary PTO online at silverrailpto.org.
