Toys for Tots applications sought
Bend’s Community Center is partnering with the Marine Corp League’s 2014 Toys For Tots campaign. They are now taking applications Monday – Friday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
All applications must be in by December 15, 2014. Applications are available at the Bend’s Community Center located at 1036 NE 5th Street in Bend. Toy pick-up will be on December 19, 2014 from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Applicants may call 541-312-2069 for more information.
In the tri-county area that the Toys for Tots campaign serves, the average unemployment rate is 9.9%, creating a greater need for families to apply for help with their holiday needs.
The Marine Corps League is asking for donations of new unwrapped toys and is seeking to raise $20,000. If 20,000 people would donate $1, this goal is in reach. Toys and donations may be dropped off at their location in the Bend Factory Store Mall on South 3rd Street in Bend.
The Salvation Army, located at 515 NE DeKalb, is also taking applications Monday – Friday from 9:00 am to 11:30 am until November 28, 2014. Applicants may call 541-389-8888 for more information.
