That’s A Wrap! Bend Summer Festival Big Success
The 21st annual Bend Summer Festival wrapped up downtown Sunday, having benefited from beautiful weather for the weekend event.
The three-day festival features all the usual fun: food booths, activities for the kids and arts and craft vendors.
And of course, the wide variety of live music was a huge hit.
Organizers say the fest not only brings in thousands of locals, but also many people from out of town to catch the party.
So naturally, it’s an event many downtown businesses look forward to, because it brings in thousands of participants.
Overall, the visitors and vendors had a great weekend.
“Just the location — it’s kind of nice having it downtown and seeing everybody’s hand-made craft goods,” said Kim DeVries. “And there’s a lot of variety so far. It’s been nice and quality materials.”
“It’s been really good,” said jewelry vendor Valerie Smith. “The weather finally lightened up, and it’s just been a blessing to have good weather. We’re very fortunate.”
This year, more than 200 artists and crafts people had their works on display.
More than 20 food vendors set up shop, and of course there was a wide variety of specialty cheeses, wines and chocolates — and of course, Tornado Fries.
