Alaska Airlines adds early-bird RDM-PDX flight

KTVZ

Redmond Airport announced Monday the addition of a new, “early-bird” daily Alaska Airlines flight to Portland, starting Monday, Nov. 4, and a new flight from Portland to Redmond in the evenings.

The additional flight will offer early-morning service to PDX. Alaska Airlines Flight 2022 is scheduled to depart Roberts Field (RDM) at 5:10 A.M., arriving in Portland (PDX) at 6:00 A.M.

As a result, the passenger screening checkpoint operated by TSA at RDM will open at 3:45 A.M. daily beginning Nov. 4 to accommodate the new flight to Portland.

Horizon Air will also open their ticket counters at 3:45 A.M. daily to assist passengers traveling on Flight 2022.

Beginning Sunday, Nov. 3, Alaska Airlines adds another new flight, Flight 2085, that departs PDX at 7:55 P.M. arriving into RDM at 8:36 P.M. daily.

The new early-morning flight should improve travelers’ ability to make same-day connecting flights out of Portland to other locations around the country. Those needing to make early-morning business or other appointments in the Portland area also stand to benefit.

The new Alaska Airlines flights, operated by Horizon Air, will provide daily service from RDM to PDX with a Bombardier Q400 aircraft with 76 passenger seats. The flight time is a quick 43 minutes.

Although Flight 2085 is an early-morning departure, passengers are encouraged to arrive early to complete the screening process. Once through the screening process, coffee, beverages, snacks, gifts and magazines are available for purchase from the concessionaire.

Horizon Air’s ticket counter closes thirty minutes prior to departure time. Passengers must be completed with the security screening process and ready to board their flight 30 minutes prior to departure time, according to the airline.
