Halloween Cyclocross racers welcome rain
Halloween costumes and cyclocross racing –, when you combine the two you get Bend’s very own “Halloween Cyclocross Crusade.” This weekend, cyclocross racers from all over the country met in the Old Mill District to race and have a good time.
Sunday’s leg was a little different, with all the competitors dressed in their favorite costumes.
John Nicholas, who dressed up as a stormtrooper from Star Wars, believes Bend has the best Cross Crusade in all of Oregon.
“Cyclocross is family and friends,” Nicholas said, “It’s from juniors and 4 year olds all the way to a cyclocrosser here that’s 70 years old. So you see the whole gambit, and we’re all out here to have fun.”
For those who were watching, the rainy weather wasn’t the best, but one racer said the conditions were perfect for riding.
