Bend seeks applicants for board, commission

KTVZ

The City of Bend has three vacant positions on its Bend Economic Development Advisory Board (BEDAB) and one position available on the Arts, Beautification and Culture Commission (ABC Commission).

BEDAB members are appointed by and advise the City Council on economic development matters and ensure that the City promotes a supportive business environment to foster economic growth.

To balance out the existing committee membership, the City is looking for representatives from the health care, retail, banking and high tech industries.

Monthly committee time includes attendance at one regular meeting and at least one subcommittee meeting. A high level of involvement with the applicant’s industry in Bend is preferred.

ABC Commission members are appointed by the City Council to provide recommendations on the City’s role in supporting Art, Beauty, and Culture.

Applicants for both the BEDAB and ABC Commission must be City of Bend residents. Applications will be accepted until 5 p.m., Friday, May 16 at Bend City Hall, 710 NW Wall St. in Bend.

For applications or questions, please call 541-388-5505 or visit bendoregon.gov/committees.
