Oregon librarians to gather in Bend for yearly conference

KTVZ

Over 400 library and information professionals will be gathering in Bend for the 76th annual Oregon Library Association conference April 20 – 22.

Many of the attendees will be exploring Bend before, during and after the conference. The main events, including a keynote by Sari Feldman, president of the American Library Association, will take place at the Riverhouse Convention Center.

The theme of this year’s conference is “Tell Your Story.” When asked about the significance of the theme, current OLA President Jane Corry answered, “Our stories are what make us who we are, as individuals, as institutions and as a society in general. It’s what connects us to each other.”

The OLA Conference is an annual event rotating each year between Bend, Salem, Eugene, and Portland. It was last held in Bend in 2012.
