Start Making a Reader Today thanks C.O. businesses for support

KTVZ

SMART, Start Making A Reader Today is grateful to our business partners and corporate sponsors. To date we have raised more than $50,000 toward the purchase books and to recruit, screen, train and support volunteers who read one hour a week with students in PreK-3rd grades.

In the 2015-16 school year we have received financial and in-kind donations from many individuals as well as from from the following local businesses:

The SMART program is provided at no cost to area schools. Without the support of many community partners, SMART would not have the ability to serve the more than 650 children in our local schools who benefit from the 1:1 time spent with volunteer readers each week.

It costs $300 per child per year to provide SMART. We hope to finish off the year with $100,000 which covers approximately 60% of the cost to serve more than 650 children who are currently participating in SMART in Central Oregon. To make a donation today go to: www.getsmartoregon.org or mail a check to SMART at the Bend-La Pine Administration building: 520 NW Wall Street Suite 110 Bend, OR 97703
