Fire destroys Prineville shop, camp trailer, damages home

KTVZ

A fast-moving fire consumed a shop and camp trailer in southeast Prineville Sunday evening and also caused heavy damage to a nearby house, officials said.

Crook County Fire and Rescue Chief Matt Smith said 14 firefighters, two engines, a water and an ambulance were dispatched around 6:30 p.m. to the structure fire in the 1000 block of Southeast Lincoln Road.

Crews quickly brought the flames under control, Smith said, and remained on scene for two hours, mopping up hot spots.

The shop and trailer were a complete loss, while the house sustained significant damage. Smith said the American Red Cross responded to the scene to provide assistance to two adults, the home’s displaced occupants.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, the fire chief said.
