Bend Fire EMS physician advisor honored

KTVZ

The Bend Fire Department announced with pride Wednesday that its EMS Physician Advisor, Dr. Helenka Marcinek, was selected by the Oregon Health Authority to receive a professional achievement award – the State EMS Director’s Award.

This particular recognition rises above the level of nomination: It is essentially a lifetime achievement award, bestowed on an individual who has made notable and substantial contributions to the Emergency Medical Services system.

Dr. Marcinek will be honored at the annual Oregon EMSD Conference Awards Banquet, to be held at the Riverhouse Conference Center on September 23.

Dr. Marcinek has been the agency’s Physician Advisor (along with Dr. Bill Reed) for 18 years, and she has always been a strong voice for the highest quality of pre-hospital patient care.

The Bend Fire Department is very grateful for her inspiration and support, and for her commitment to our patients’ well-being.
