Huntington Road, Riverview Drive closures start Monday
Work is nearing completion on the Construction and Paving of Huntington Road and Deer Run Lane project, Deschutes County officials said Friday.
The project includes realigning the north and south intersections of Huntington Road with Riverview Drive and converting the gravel section of Huntington Road between those intersections to a paved, two-lane section, making Huntington Road the through route for north/south traffic.
The project also includes converting the County-maintained gravel portion of Deer Run Lane to a paved, two-lane section.
Beginning at 7:00 a.m. on Monday, September 11, the south intersection of Huntington Road with Riverview Drive will be closed to allow for realignment of the intersection.
Work at the south intersection is anticipated to be completed by September 25, at which point the north intersection of Huntington Road with Riverview Drive will be closed to allow for realignment of that intersection.
Closure of the north intersection is anticipated to be in effect through October 4. Through traffic will be detoured to Hwy 97 via Burgess Road to the south and Prairie Drive to the north for the duration of both intersection closures.
After October 4, Knife River Corporation, the project contractor, will be conducting final paving and other work through mid-October, when the project is anticipated to be completed. Motorists should anticipate delays during this period.
