ODOT plans ADA work at Ochoco Creek Bridge

KTVZ

Beginning Monday, September 25th, crews from Carter & Company, under contract to the Oregon Department of Transportation, will be reinstalling sidewalk ramps on Oregon Highway 380 in Prineville. This is the site of the Ochoco Creek Bridge Project that was completed last year. This work will take approximately two weeks to complete.

These modifications are taking place as a result of recent changes and interpretations to the Americans with Disabilities Act that occurred after the initial sidewalk ramps were installed. The existing ramps will be upgraded to comply with these new guidelines and requirements.

Given cost savings on the project last year, ODOT said it has sufficient project funds to complete the work within the original budget.

During construction of the ADA ramps, shoulders will be closed however pedestrian detours will be in place. There are no anticipated delays to the traveling public.
