Community rallies around Crook County’s Paige Wood after car accident

Bend, Or. (KTVZ)-- Crook County High School student Paige Wood is recovering after being involved in a serious car accident Sunday morning.

According to reports, Paige was on her way home from Eugene when the crash occurred. She was flown to St. Charles Medical Center in Bend, where she was treated for multiple injuries. On Tuesday night, she was transported to Portland to continue receiving care.

Paige is well-known in the local volleyball community and is a talented multi-sport athlete. Both she and her mother have been active and beloved members of the Central Oregon sports scene.

In the wake of the accident, the community has rallied behind Paige and her family. A fundraiser for her recovery has already raised more than $35,000.

Her mother shared an update on social media, writing, “She’s fighting... Tomorrow’s a new day, and every day is a battle to get better.”
