Family Access Network receives $2,500 grant
The Family Access Network has received a $2,500 grant from the Safeway Foundation, which will be used to provide 25 children and family members in Central Oregon with essential resources such as nutritious food, safe housing, clothing, health care, school supplies, and much more.
“FAN is grateful for this partnership with Safeway Foundation. We look forward to working together to improve the lives of Central Oregon children and families,” Julie Lyche, FAN Executive Director.
The Safeway Foundation gave over $44 million last year to better the lives of their customers and communities. They collaborate with local organizations who work to improve the quality of life for entire communities. Safeway Foundation has a focus on giving locally in order to strengthen neighborhoods and change lives.
Unique to Central Oregon, FAN began in 1993 and currently employs 24 advocates in 55 public schools (K-12) and early childhood sites in Deschutes and Crook Counties. The direct placement of FAN advocates within the public schools allows FAN to effectively reach and connect disadvantaged children and families to essential basic needs.

The Family Access Network is committed to creating a community where children flourish and families thrive. In the 2017/18 school year, FAN advocates improved the lives of over 9,000 children and family members in Central Oregon.
