Summit skiers take combined, girls team titles at Alpine State Championships

Summit skiers took the combined team state title and the girls team title at the Alpine State Championships, held Thursday and Friday at Mt. Hood Meadows.

Summit ranked first in the boys and girls team combined competition, winning the combined state title, the Bill Healy Award (named for Mt. Bachelor's founder) and a number of other awards.

Bend High didn't qualify for the trophy, without enough girls to form a team, but the Bend boys placed seventh in the combined race. Mountain View, Sisters and Caldera also had competitors taking part.
