An early check-in with Santa in Bend

KTVZ

Santa Claus, whom KTVZ met a few months ago, is gearing up for his big trip to New York City in a couple weeks to return to his post in Rockefeller Center. In the meantime, Mr. and Mrs. Claus are building the excitement with some extra decorations.

“Well, we never get a chance to spend Christmas at home, so we decorate our home so we can get the feel of Christmas before we leave,” Santa said at the home in Bend where he spends much of his time.

While Santa is ready to head East for his big gig, hearing all the boys and girls’ wishes at Rockefeller Center, up at the North Pole, the elves are hard at work.

“Right now, the workshop is 24/7, so we’re making a lot of good stuff right now,” Santa said, “All you good boys and girls will get a lot of good presents this year.”

The beard might give his identity away when he walks down the street.

“It’s part of me, and I’m just used to it,” Santa said.

But there is something still missing.

“Sam, can you picture me in a Santa cap, and glasses, and a red suit, and black boots? Can you picture me in that?” Santa said.

You bet!

And the transformation begins…

“Wow Samantha you have great imagination!” Santa said.

He’s has rocked this famous suit for 20 years.

“It still fits, so I’m OK,” Santa said.

While he has cheer to spread, cookies to eat, presents to deliver, elves to look after and reindeer to feed, Santa’s message is the same as it’s always been.

“Everyone have a Merry Christmas,” Santa said.
