Hot and dry pattern through the weekend

KTVZ-TV

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) - The weather quiets down to end the week, but Wednesday’s lightning sparked several new fire starts in parts of Oregon.

Today will be a little cooler, with highs in the upper 80s under partly cloudy skies. That’s still a few degrees above normal for this time of year.

Northwest winds will pick up in the afternoon to evening, creating breezy to windy conditions.

As we head into the overnight hours, skies will stay mostly clear with lows dipping into the 40s and 50s.

High temperatures will gradually warm through the weekend, reaching the mid 90s by Sunday. The weekend is looking hot and dry, but we are not seeing those storm chances.

Expect partly sunny to mostly cloudy skies on Monday. Highs will dip slightly back into the upper 80s and low 90s for the start of the next work week.

There is a slight chance for showers and storms on Tuesday, with some lingering showers into Wednesday.

Central Oregon is not under any heat alerts, but it's still important to take the heat seriously. Stay hydrated, protect your skin with sunscreen, and take breaks in the shade whenever you can.
