Music video production stalled in Bend

A music video for a Jamaican artist was supposed to be shot right here in Central Oregon on Sunday, but the filmmaker is having difficulty finding a location.

Local filmmaker Tim Cash from Far from Earth Films is making a music video for Jamaican artist Omi, but he is having some issues finding a bank to use as a set.

Cash said he tried to get a real bank, but most have policies where you can’t film. So he looked for closed-down banks.

Cash already had a bank location in Redmond Sunday morning, but it fell apart at the last minute.

“This, for me, is kind of the next level, because this is the first legit record label I’ve ever gotten a chance to work with,” Cash said. “So it’s a bit stressful, but as you climb up in the world, the stress adds as well.”

NewsChannel 21 also talked with the urban pop artist.

“We are putting on a music video for two songs, Cheerleader and Standing on All Threes,” Omi said. “We did one yesterday, but we are experiencing a bit of difficulty to do the other one.”

Cash said the video already has MTV appeal, and there’s already a market for it.

Omi’s record label leaves at 5 a.m. Monday morning, so you can imagine the stress.

Cash said he might have to hold Omi for a couple days more just to find a location.

Omi’s debut album is due out some time next month.
