Great Drake Park Duck Race tickets on sale
The 2012 $1 Million Dollar Great Drake Park Duck Race is on! Local Rotarians and Credit Unions Working Together kicked off the 23rd Annual Great Drake Park Duck Race last week.
The 2011 Duck Race beneficiaries were presented a check in the amount of $79,429: Kristy Krugh (Ronald McDonald House), Kim McNamer (Deschutes Children’s Foundation), Robin Antonson (KIDS Center), Tim Rusk (MountainStar Family Relief Nursery), Diane Turnbull (SMART), Taffy Gleason (Bend Community Center), Emy Vallerga (2011 Rotary Duck Race Chair), CJ Ferrari (2012 Rotary Duck Race Chair).
Since 1989, the Great Rotary Duck Race has donated over $932,991 to Central Oregon charities, all supporting children and families in need. The goal for 2012 is to surpass the $1 million mark!
Duck Race tickets are on sale now for just $5 at Mid Oregon Credit Union, Selco, Northwest Community Credit Union, OnPoint Community Credit Union, Southern Oregon Federal Credit Union or from any Bend area Rotarian. Look for volunteers selling ducks at many of the Central Oregon venues, events, and festivals this summer.
The 2012 Duck Race proceeds will benefit iCon City, Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Oregon, Healing Reins, Cascade Youth, Family Center, KIDS Center, Mountain Star Family Relief Nursery and Shots for Tots.
About the Race
The 23rd Annual Great Drake Park Duck Race will be held on Sunday, September 9th with festivities beginning at 11am. The Duck Race is an on-going fundraiser organized by all four Bend area Rotary clubs – with hundreds of Rotarians working hand in hand with local businesses, residents and the media to make the event a reality. Because of this community-wide support, in 2011, 92.6% of all proceeds went directly to local charities.
The Duck Race 2012 “Credit Unions Working Together” title sponsors include Mid Oregon Credit Union, Northwest Community Credit Union, OnPoint Community Credit Union, Selco and Southern Oregon Federal Credit Union. This year’s grand prize is a $20,000 auto voucher towards the purchase of a new vehicle at Chevrolet Cadillac of Bend. Plus, duck race participants can win over $8,000 in local prizes!
