Amazon Officially Dedicates Redmond Distribution Center, Donates to Heart of Oregon’s Food Heroes Initiative

MGN Online

REDMOND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- Amazon hosted an inaugural event with regional officials at its new 80,000-square-foot distribution site in Redmond. The facility launched operations earlier this year and has created more than 150 positions in the city.

The distribution center expands Amazon's presence in Central Oregon. Alongside launching the facility, the company announced financial support for regional community development and youth programs.

During the inaugural event, Amazon presented a $10,000 contribution to the Heart of Oregon's Food Heroes initiative. The program addresses food scarcity across Central Oregon by engaging local youth in hunger mitigation efforts while offering professional skills training.

Amazon expects to conduct additional hiring at the Redmond facility throughout the holiday period.

KTVZ's Spencer Sacks will have an exclusive tour of the new distribution center this evening on KTVZ News at 6:00 pm.
