IDANHA, Ore. (KTVZ) -- A Scappoose man was killed and a Bend man was injured early Sunday morning in a two-vehicle crash on state Highway 22E near Idanha, Oregon State Police reported.

OSP troopers and emergency personnel responded around 1:30 a.m. to the reported collision near milepost 64 in Linn County.

A preliminary investigation found that Brian Beveridge, 48, of Scappoose, was driving a Subaru Legacy westbound on the highway and crossed into the oncoming lane, striking an eastbound Nissan Frontier driven by Matthew Baker, 49, of Bend, troopers said.

  1. I am amazed that the other driver survived. That is a bad stretch of road. I’ve seen so many near head on crashes over the years, and have personally been in two very close calls.
The ones I have seen have always been because of some idiot passing where they shouldn’t,
but the story doesn’t say that was the case in this accident.
