La PINE, Ore. (KTVZ) --  Midstate Electric Cooperative proudly hosted a Career Day event at their headquarters on Thursday, welcoming 39 students from La Pine High School and North Lake School. The event aimed to educate and inspire the next generation about opportunities within the electric cooperative industry.

Midstate Career Day offered students a comprehensive overview of various career paths available within the cooperative, covering a wide range of fields including Lineworker, Mechanic, Engineering, GIS Analyst, Member Service, Accounting, Human Resources, Marketing, Energy Services, Communications, Utility Support, Information Technology, Substation Wireman, Meter Technician, and Distribution Technician (Staking).

To maximize engagement and learning, students were divided into four groups and rotated through presentations and demonstrations tailored to each career track. Through interactive sessions, they gained valuable insights into the day-to-day responsibilities, skills required, and potential career trajectories within each field.

Midstate Electric Cooperative provided lunch for all attendees, as well as giveaways of cooperative swag. At the end of the day, students had the chance to win gas cards, and raffles for gift cards to local restaurants.

"We are thrilled with the success of our Career Day event and the opportunity it provided to inspire young minds about the diverse career opportunities within the electric cooperative industry," said Kimberly Hannon, Marketing & Communications Associate at Midstate Electric Cooperative.

Midstate Electric Cooperative remains committed to supporting educational initiatives and fostering local talent, empowering the next generation to pursue rewarding careers in the utility industry.
