Sunny pattern heading into the weekend along with warmer conditions

KTVZ

Bend, Ore (KTVZ) – Clear and dry weather today will continue as we move closer to the last weekend in March. The normal high temperatures for Central Oregon in late March are around the middle 50s, and we should see that today. The lack of cloud cover overnight will allow the region to cool quickly as winds stay light as well.

After dropping into the upper 20s tonight the mercury in the thermometer will rise quickly into the upper 60s to low 70s on Friday. The ridge of high pressure located in New Mexico and Texas will push the warmer than normal temperature readings into Oregon.

Dry and very mild weather will best describe the weekend as there will be little change each of the next few days. Saturday will be dry and mild with highs in the upper 60s and that will continue into Sunday. A few more clouds will cross the skies on Sunday, but temperature readings will be similar to Saturday.

Changes begin to take place as we move into the new work week. The skies become partly to mostly cloudy and our highs will be about ten degrees cooler than over the weekend.  The clouds will not be robust enough to provide any rain, but will be setting us up for some rain to arrive by the middle of the week.

Tuesday will be mostly cloudy as well and a stray shower may fall across the mountains, but not much. Expect to see the bulk of the rainy weather hold off until Wednesday.

The timing of any feature past three or four days becomes more of a guideline than a rule. The chance for rain to begin late Tuesday is not off the table, but the consensus from most models brings the rain in Wednesday.

The rainy pattern will linger into Thursday and the chance for some mountain snow is also likely.  The temperatures both Wednesday and Thursday will be in the middle to low 50s with a possible mix of rain and before sunrise Thursday.

Enjoy the weekend as the last weekend of the month will be mild dry and pleasant. Get some yard work done, or just enjoy the day.

Please, Stay safe.
