KTVZ

Michael Forbis and Oliver Tatom have joined the executive board of the Central Oregon Disability Support Network.

CODSN MISSION: CODSN’s mission is to connect families with resources and each other to recognize, promote and value diversity in a welcoming community.

CODSN will accomplish this mission by empowering and supporting families and individuals who have been touched by disability. We will work to increase education, promote public understanding and acceptance, and encourage full inclusion of individuals with differences in our community.

We believe and advocate for the following;

Disability is one of many types of human diversity. Peer support is sustainable, empowers families and changes lives. Families with high expectations for their children raise adults with high expectations. All families have strengths and valuable experiences that contribute to their community. Welcoming communities strengthen and support all families. The role of service systems is to complement the support that exists in community. Access to effective supports and services is a fundamental right of all families across Oregon. Michael Forbis is a successful industry sales veteran that has been instrumental in building several different Professional Employment Organizations over the last 20 years. In his
role with Mid Oregon Personnel, Michael, the Vice President of Sales plays an integral role in developing and executing the company’s strategy as well as sales and account service. Prior to Mid Oregon Personnel, Forbis served as Business Development Manager with two multi-million dollar PEO’s where he drove unprecedented PEO sales that generated enough business that financially built a name for both PEO’s within their respective regions.

Previous to that, Michael held various positions including Vice President of Direct Agent Sales at West Corporation in conjunction with AT&T’s “Feet on the Street Program”. He was also responsible for the business development of several satellite offices; and for the hiring, development and training of the sales force. Michael was ranked #1 VP out of all satellite offices due to his exceeding revenue on a monthly basis. His style of recruiting, developing and creating a continued education program to teach his own style of selling through his constant positive reinforcement, implementation of bonus and mentoring programs are like no other.

In his free time, Michael is a professional magician doing events from Birthday parties to large corporate functions. He also enjoys camping and hiking with his wife Marie and son Jacob. Michael also is heavily involved in the autism community volunteering his time by helping with parade and float building along with charity events.

Oliver Tatom, Board Member
After graduating from Bend High School, Oliver earned his B.A. in American Studies from the University of Southern California and later trained as a Paramedic at Yale-New Haven Hospital in Connecticut. In 2014, he returned to Central Oregon with his wife Amy and their two children, Sylvia and Dean. While Dad is his favorite job, Oliver wears many other hats as well: Paramedic, EMS educator, Search & Rescue responder, volunteer big brother, and nursing student. He joined the board in 2018 to help CODSN empower families, educate health care providers, and advocate for children of diverse abilities.
