Local Alert Day today: Mountain snow continues, periods of snow and cold rain across the high desert
(KTVZ, Bend Ore.) The snow continues to impact the mountain passes as the snow levels have dropped below pass levels before sunrise today. The roads are slick, and the area is expecting to see more snow off and on into the night.

The winds are not as robust as Friday and Saturday but will continue to be noticeable with gusts near 20 – 25 mph at times. Winter Weather Advisory is still in effect until just after midnight in parts of Deschutes and Jefferson Counties. Today was the third Local Alert Day in a row. We may still see some issues through the Cascades in the morning, so stay alert for icy and snowy conditions above 4500 feet.

There was some light snow away from the mountains this morning and a few more flakes may pass through off and on today. Overall, the snow will be impacting the mountains the rest of the weekend, but don’t be surprised if there are some quick bursts of snow before the end of the day.
Mt. Bachelor was excited to report 12 inches of new snow today. Below is a look at the passes and Century Drive at around 6:45 pm Sunday.

The cold pocket of cold air associated with the wintry weather is expected to linger into Monday. Clearing skies Monday and breezy conditions are expected. Highs Monday will only top our near 50 as the normal highs for late October are around the upper 50s.

Tuesday begins a mild run of 60-degree weather as a ridge builds in the region. Breezy weather will stick around, but overall the dry pattern is going to define the week.
There is a very weak impulse that will push into the Cascades overnight Tuesday into Wednesday. This will be a quick moving round of light rain and wintry mix, and should begin after midnight and end before sunrise Wednesday.
Halloween will be mild and dry with high temperatures in the middle 60s. A few showers are possible early Saturday morning and the timing may change as we get more information.
