Off and on rain showers this week, mainly north of the region
Bend, Ore (KTVZ). Mild and dry day will be followed by a series of showers that will impact the northern portion of Central Oregon. Generally light rain and some mountain snow is expected to cross the region over the next several days, including Thanksgiving.
Tonight, I expect to see an increase in cloud cover ahead of what may be an inch or two of snow across the crest of the Cascades Tuesday.
Showers may cross the area Tuesday morning and a few flakes may fall before 10 am in Crook County, but generally most of the activity will be north and west of the Tri-Counties.
Wednesday will be partly to mostly cloudy as, once again, the showers will be mainly north of the area. The temperatures will be in the upper 40s to low 50s so if we do see some precipitation, it will be in the form of rain. Jefferson county seems to be the most likely area to see any rain.
Thanksgiving will be mostly cloudy with some stray and isolated showers. The temperature readings will be mild enough for mostly liquid (rain) precipitation, but some isolated mountain snow and wintry mix is possible. Travel conditions will not be perfect, as rain and possible fog may impact your driving ability, but nothing at this time is expected to be too overwhelming.
Friday will be dry as the series of rainy and or snowy events will have ended. The region should stay dry for the remainder of the holiday weekend with temperatures on the chilly side, in the low 40s.
Please, Stay safe.
