Hot pattern through Friday, rain and storm chances return tomorrow

KTVZ-TV

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) - Thursday will be the hottest day of the week with highs reaching into the mid and upper 90s.

A large ridge of high pressure sitting over the Four Corners has been bringing the heat to Central Oregon for a few days, but changes are arriving soon.

Lows will dip into the 50s and 60s as clouds increase overnight.

Friday will bring another hot day with daytime highs in the low 90s. A few showers or thunderstorms could develop, bringing some relief from the heat. However, any lightning could spark new wildfires. If any storms develop, it would be during the afternoon to evening timeframe.

Expect a cooldown as a cold front moves through Saturday. Highs will drop into the mid 80s both Saturday and Sunday, which is closer to normal for late August.

Monday and Tuesday look a little warmer with highs in the upper 80s. Skies will stay mostly sunny into the middle of next week.
