Sunshine returns Monday as Central Oregon begins a warmer, drier stretch

A few lingering showers are possible Sunday evening before skies clear and a warmer, drier pattern settles into Central Oregon.

The National Weather Service says Bend, Redmond, Madras and Prineville have a 20% chance of rain showers Sunday evening. Skies will become mostly clear overnight, with lows dropping into the mid-30s to lower 40s.

West winds of 5 to 15 mph could gust to around 25 mph through the evening.

Along the east slopes of the Cascades, including Sisters, La Pine and Sunriver, there is also a 20% chance of evening showers before skies clear overnight. Lows will fall into the lower 30s to lower 40s, with gusts up to 25 mph possible.

Monday will bring sunshine and warmer temperatures across the region.

Highs are expected to reach the lower 70s in Bend, Redmond, Madras and Prineville. Along the east slopes of the Cascades, highs will range from the upper 50s to upper 60s, with valley locations reaching the upper 60s to lower 70s.

Tuesday will be partly cloudy, with highs again near the lower 70s across much of Central Oregon. A 20% chance of rain showers returns Tuesday night along the east slopes of the Cascades.

Mostly clear conditions are expected Wednesday through the weekend.

Temperatures will gradually warm late in the week, with highs reaching the mid-70s to lower 80s across Central Oregon from Thursday through Sunday. Along the east slopes of the Cascades, highs will reach the upper 60s to upper 70s.
