C.O. police report 19 DUII arrests over Fourth

Central Oregon law enforcement agencies said Wednesday they made 19 DUII arrests during their five-day High Visibility Enforcement campaign dedicated to DUII enforcement over the Fourth of July holiday weekend.

The Bend Police Department dedicated officers to both grant funded overtime and straight time enforcement over the holiday weekend resulting in eight DUII arrests, two DWS (driving with a suspended license) and five other arrests/citations.

Oregon State Police Bend had five DUII arrests. Redmond Police Department had a busy holiday weekend with six DUIIs, two DWS, two for reckless endangering, three reckless driving, and two MIPs (minors in possession of alcohol).

This HVE enforcement is funded by overtime funds through the Oregon Department of Transportation. The next HVE campaign is scheduled for the Labor Day holiday.
