Bend Fire Dept. seeks Civil Service Comm. applicants

The City of Bend is seeking applicants to fill three positions on the Bend Fire Department Civil Service Commission which is established by city ordinance.

Commissioners serve on a voluntary basis. They are appointed by the City Council for the purpose of ensuring that appointment and promotion of employees, compensation practices and discipline are conducted based on merit, efficiency and fitness.

The Commission normally meets quarterly and Commissioners serve a six-year term.

Applicants must be City of Bend residents and Deschutes County registered voters.

Applications will be accepted until 5 p.m. on December 16 , 2016. Applicants must complete the Advisory Committee Application and submit by email to smunson@bendoregon.gov or hand-deliver to Susy Munson at Bend City Hall.

Advisory Committee Application forms can be obtained at City Administration Offices or downloaded from www.bendoregon.gov/committees .
