Deschutes Co. sets 2 public meetings on lot of record amendments

KTVZ

Last Wednesday, the Deschutes County Board of Commissioners adopted amendments to county code that clarify the lot of record verification process.

A legal lot of record is a lot or parcel that was lawfully established with any rules (partition, subdivision, minimum lot sizes, etc.) that were in effect at the time of its creation. Rural property owners must verify that their tax lot is a legal lot of record before the county will issue land use, building, or septic permits.

The recent amendments to county code clarify that rural property owners do not need to go through the lot of record verification process if Deschutes County has previously issued them a land use, building, or septic permit.

The Deschutes County Community Development Department is holding two public meetings to discuss the lot of record amendments:

Wednesday, Nov. 8, 3 p.m. at the Deschutes Services Center, 1300 Wall Street, DeArmond Room. Thursday, Nov. 9, 5:30 p.m. at the Deschutes Services Center, 1300 Wall Street, Barnes and Sawyer rooms (Planning Commission agenda item).
