Jordan Williams
Multimedia journalist, weather anchor, NewsChannel 21
Hello, Central Oregon, my name is Jordan Williams, and I am your new reporter at NewsChannel 21. I am excited and grateful for the opportunity to work here in Bend and deliver the news.
I was born and raised in sunny Los Angeles; to be more specific, the San Fernando Valley. Although I’m from a large city, I spent most of my summers in a very small town in Illinois. So making the transition from a big city like Los Angeles to Bend might not be as hard as you would think. The Northwest has always interested me, so I’m excited to call Bend my home.
I attended California State University of Northridge, where I studied Broadcast Journalism. While at CSUN, I was able to work on student-run television and radio newscasts. I enjoyed the hustle and bustle of working at my school’s newscasts.
I graduated in 2017 and took a couple years off before taking the plunge into professional television. I grew up watching the news with my mom, and the process of television news intrigued me. I was the kid at high school who had the sports page under my arm every morning. Eventually, I’d like to pursue sports journalism as a career.
When I’m not chasing my next story, I will usually be doing something outside, like jogging or riding my bike. In high school, I played basketball and volleyball. I’m a passionate sports fan of the Chelsea Football Club, Los Angeles Rams and Dodgers and the Chicago Bulls.
I hope that I can emulate some of the past journalists we’ve had here at NewsChannel 21 and serve the community to the best of my ability. I’m always seeking story ideas, either through Twitter or Facebook, so please, don’t be shy!
