‘Circle of Voices’ event set to celebrate Ukrainian culture and community connection

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- A unique cultural experience celebrating heritage and community connection will take place in northeast Bend next weekend.

“Circle of Voices,” happening Sunday, April 19 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Hanai Center, will feature a Ukrainian women’s folklore trio sharing traditional songs, storytelling, and reflections on cultural memory.

The event is timed to mark the 40th anniversary of the Chornobyl disaster and aims to offer a meaningful exploration of lived experience through music and story. A spring reception will follow the performance.

Presented by Kolovita, in partnership with Visit Bend and the Hanai Foundation, Circle of Voices is part of Bend’s growing focus on cultural tourism and community diversity. Organizers say it also connects with the spirit of Bend’s Resolution No. 3467, affirming support for immigrant communities.

Organizer Mila Shelehoff of Kolovita says the evening is “an invitation to listen and to celebrate voices that carry tradition forward through song.”

The event is open to the public. You can find tickets here.
