100+ Women Who Care of C. Oregon donates nearly $20K to three area nonprofits
BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- COVID 19 may be altering our ‘normal’ lives, but the virus and uncertainty haven’t changed the generosity of 100+ Women Who Care of Central Oregon.
Rising to the challenge to continue with the work they started in 2014, even due to COVID, members raised a collective $19,500 (and counting) for three deserving area nonprofits.
Again this quarter, the meeting was held virtually. Instead of voting for only one of three nominated worthy nonprofits, three recipients were randomly chosen from member-nominated organizations. Members ‘voted’ by donating to their chosen nonprofit. Many gracious women donated to all three worthy organizations.
Donations continue to come in (and are still gratefully accepted.) We are pleased to announce: Mountain Star Relief Nursery, $5,700; Treehouse Therapies, $7,350; and Every Child of C.O, $6,450.
Kristin Betschart, co-leader of 100+ WWCCO said, “Once again, the women of Central Oregon show their generosity, even when times are unpredictable for everyone. I’m proud to be a part of an organization that cares so much.”
