Chavez-DeRemer announces 21 service academy nominees across 5th District, several in C.O.

WASHINGTON (KTVZ) – Rep. Lori Chavez-DeRemer (OR-05) has nominated 21 students from across the 5th District to be considered for appointments to three U.S. service academies. 

“I’m honored to nominate nearly two dozen outstanding Oregon students who are hoping to attend one of several prestigious service academies. These bright young leaders have already accomplished so much in their schools and communities, and their dedication to service is truly admirable. I wish them the best as they continue this process and look forward to seeing their future achievements,” Chavez-DeRemer said.

Following an extensive application process, Chavez-DeRemer nominated the following Oregonians to three service academies for the class of 2028:

U.S. Naval Academy

Harrison Jenrich, Bend

Oliver Meredith, Bend

Aodhan O’Neill, Canby

Jeremy Oblack, Molalla

Tristan Seber, Lake Oswego

Meredith Shea, Portland

Jackson Rigney, Lake Oswego

Miles Thran, Milwaukie

Boone Washburn, Lake Oswego

Olivia West, Lake Oswego
 

U.S. Air Force Academy

Rowen Benedict, Bend

Aiden Brennan, Happy Valley

Chelsea Campbell, Lebanon

Nolan Gorman, Redmond

Colton Joersz, Bend

Sean McBride, Beavercreek

Kaylee Nystrom, Bend
 

U.S. Military Academy

Max Brauner, Lake Oswego

Rylen Castino, Redmond

Kaden Nguyen, Happy Valley

Byron Schroeder, Bend 

Students interested in academy appointments should begin the application process in the spring of their junior year of high school. Early application is encouraged.
