Wishes & Dishes hits the road in September to support C.O. life-changing wishes

Make-a-Wish Oregon

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- The beloved community event, Wishes & Dishes, is back this September with an exciting new twist. Originally launched in 2023 by two Central Oregon Make-A-Wish families, the event is set to expand its impact this year, turning a one-day celebration into a month-long movement across Bend.

In a show of remarkable generosity, several local businesses have joined forces to host various fundraisers throughout the month of September, all aimed at raising funds to grant life-changing wishes for children facing critical illnesses in the region. Right now, there are more than 310 kids who are waiting to experience the hope and healing a wish can provide.

“What started as a way for our families to give back has now grown into something much bigger, thanks to the incredible support of our Bend community,” said Stefanie Shalkowsky, Make-A-Wish Oregon Alumni and Communications Manager. “We’re thrilled to see this event evolve and to have the opportunity to make even more dreams come true this year.”

This month, community members can participate in special dining experiences and promotions at the following participating businesses, all designed to raise awareness and support for the cause. Every contribution will directly benefit local children, making their wishes a reality.

Community Partners include: Stoller Wine Bar BOSA Food & Drink Stafford’s Reserve Bourbon Fix & Repeat Mountain Burger Lagree High Desert Skyline Dental 900 Wall Bangers & Brews Cascade Lakes Brewing For a detailed list of all promotions and more information about Wishes & Dishes visit: oregon.wish.org/Wishes &Dishes

Make-A-Wish creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. We are on a quest to bring every eligible child's wish to life, because a wish is an integral part of a child's treatment journey. Research shows children who have wishes granted can build the physical and emotional strength they need to fight a critical illness. Since 1983, Make-A-Wish Oregon has granted the wishes of more than 5,200 children living in Oregon, and Clark County, Washington. For more information visit: www.oregon.wish.org.
