The Giving Plate hosts Easter Basket Drive: You can help spread joy to local children

The Giving Plate

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- The Giving Plate, a community-centered nonprofit dedicated to compassionate food relief, is calling on the Bend community to help bring Easter joy to local children through its annual Easter Basket Drive. Donations are being accepted now through April 12 at The Giving Plate Distribution Center.

The goal of this initiative is to provide over 500 Easter baskets to children ages 1-12, ensuring they experience the delight and excitement of the holiday. Community members can support the drive by donating essential items, including:

  • Bubbles and small toys
  • Filled Easter eggs
  • Easter candy
  • Coloring books
  • Small gift cards
  • Pre-made Easter baskets

“We believe that every child deserves to feel special and included during holiday celebrations,” said Ranae Staley, Executive Director at The Giving Plate. ”Our vision is to nurture joy, value, and a sense of belonging in every child. We are not just feeding bellies but also feeding hearts. Together, with the generosity of our community, we can bring smiles to hundreds of children this Easter”.

Donations can be dropped off at The Giving Plate Distribution Center at 1212 NE 1st St. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, will make a difference in a child's Easter celebration.
