ALBEQUERQUE, New Mexico (KTVZ) -- Gerrit Spatz, a United States Airman from Bend, Oregon, recently was honored as Kirtland Air Force Base’s Tiger of the Week for his critical role in keeping KAFB networks secure and mission-ready!

Tiger of the Week is an award that recognizes Airmen for their stellar performance done within their units’ and their career fields.

Airman 1st Class Spatz is currently stationed at KAFB, New Mexico and is assigned to the 898th Munitions Squadron. He works as a Cyber Defense Operations specialist (1D7E).

Originally from Munich, Germany, Spatz moved to Bend at age 15 and later joined the Air Force to serve and grow in the cyber field. When he’s not hard at work, his biggest priority is his wife and daughter, whom he values above all else.

Looking ahead, Spatz aspires to commission as a cyber officer and one day own a home where his family can put down roots. With his dedication and drive, there’s no doubt he’ll achieve his goals!
