Every Kid Fund highlights grant recipient Cale, skilled musician from Cascades School of Music.

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ)-- A fund which pays for kids to get into after school programs is helping out Central Oregon again this summer. The 2025 Every Kid Fund has awarded $12,000 to get children and teens into extracurricular activities. They do this twice a year and include groups like Campfire Central Oregon and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Oregon.

Cassi Mcqueen from the Deschutes Children's Foundation told KTVZ News " It opens up opportunities and it can create a lot of hope and that's what we're all about is helping people have the best future and the best lives they can. We've seen some incredible outcomes from kids getting to have these meaningful opportunities that quite frankly they wouldn't have had otherwise."

A great example of this program in action is the Cascade School of Music. They're highlighting a student named Cale who used the Every Kid Fund to start learning music when he was 6. Fast forward 12 years and he's become an accomplished drummer all thanks to the program.
