Menorah Lighting in Old Mill - December 2020

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- The Old Mill District will kick off Chanukah with an evening of music, food, and community as Chabad of Central Oregon hosts its annual giant menorah lighting on Sunday, December 14th. The public celebration is free and open to people of all faiths.

The menorah lighting is set for 4 p.m. today in the Old Mill District’s Center Plaza, marking the first night of Chanukah. Chabad of Central Oregon will lead the ceremony at the outdoor giant menorah overlooking the Deschutes River.

Families can enjoy sufganiyot, traditional jelly-filled doughnuts, along with hot drinks, music, and a chocolate gelt drop. Organizers say the event is meant to share Chanukah traditions and spread light and unity with the wider Central Oregon community.

KTVZ’s Claire Elmer will be in attendance. Stay tuned for her full report on KTVZ News.
