A 43-year-old Bend man has been arrested on drug charges at a downtown Bend street corner, found to have a small amount of heroin, some other drugs and a concealed dagger in his possession, drug agents said Monday. Court records show he also faces aggravated theft and burglary charges.

Central Oregon Drug Enforcement Team detectives contacted and arrested Ryan Donald Crossley around 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 8 at the corner of Franklin Avenue and Harriman street, said Lt. Ken Mannix.

Crossley had been the subject of a brief investigation after CODE Team detectives received information he was involved in drug trafficking, Mannix said. Detectives investigated and determined he was involved in street-level drug trafficking, he added.

Evidence seized at the time of Crossley?s arrest included a small amount of heroin, as well as a concealed dagger and prescription medications he was not allowed to possess, Mannix said.

Crossley was lodged at the Deschutes County Jail on drug possession and delivery charges, as well as felon in possession of a restricted weapon. He was held on $10,000 bail and posted 10 percent, or $1,000, and was released the following night, a jail officer said.

Crossley was due before Circuit Judge Michael Adler Monday afternoon for arraignment on those charges and another indictment on first-degree charges of aggravated theft, burglary and theft.

Prosecutors said that since Crossley already was out on bail, he’s now scheduled to enter pleas in both cases on Sept. 6.
