Fire Guts Downtown Eugene Apartments

KTVZ

Fire officials say a fast-moving fire charred a downtown Eugene building that was home to a clothing store and several upper floor apartments.

Battalion Chief Jeff Krosner of the Springfield Fire Department tells the Register-Guard (http://is.gd/6Nh8iF ) that no one was injured in Monday’s fire. Tenants of at least four apartments say they fled from a “wall of flames.”

A clothing resale business called Puttin’ On the Ritz occupied the first floor.

The American Red Cross was helping several tenants with emergency shelter and clothing.
