Bend road, bridge work set for next week

Sections of Brookswood Blvd., Purcell Blvd. and Butler Market Rd. are scheduled for pavement restoration work as part of the City of Bend 2012 Street Maintenance Program.

Projects include grinding of failed asphalt and pre-leveling the roadway.

Repairs will take place August 13 through August 16. During this time, two-way traffic will be maintained and personnel will be in place to help control traffic. Travelers should expect delays or plan alternate routes.

Construction Schedule

Project dates are estimates based on favorable conditions; variances may occur due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
• August 13-14: Brookswood Blvd. (Pinebrook Blvd. – Buck Canyon Rd.)
Two-way traffic will be maintained for the duration of the project – expect delays
• August 15: Butler Market Rd. (8th St. – 4th St.)
Road section will be closed during a 2–4 hour portion of the project – use detour
• August 16: Purcell Blvd. (Empire Blvd. – Butler Market Rd.)

Alternating two-way traffic will be maintained with flaggers – expect delays

Work Zone Information

Typical working hours are weekdays from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Road and lane closures will be used. Alternate routes are suggested to avoid the construction zones. For more information, please visit www.bendoregon.gov/streets.

ODOT bridge maintenance crews will be working on two bridges in Bend next week. The work will impact traffic in the area.

Aug. 13 – 16, crews will make repairs to the Wilson Avenue Bridge (crossing over the Bend Parkway). Traffic will be reduced to one lane and controlled by flaggers between 5 a.m. and 4 p.m. each day. Expect delays. Use alternate routes if possible.

Aug. 17 – 19, crews will make repairs to the Empire Avenue Bridge (crossing over the Bend Parkway). Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction, but some work may require leaving only one lane open with alternating two-way traffic controlled by flaggers. Work will occur after 6 p.m. on Friday and between 5 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Expect delays. Use alternate routes if possible.

ODOT urges motorists to drive safely in the work zone.
